Last month we had to large AC units that services our Men’s Recovery dorms fail and need a total replacement. The best estimate we received was $16,000 to replace those units. Through a grant, we were able to acquire $5000 of the $16k needed but that left a major gap of $11,000 we needed ASAP to get these units replaced.

God clearly works through His people. You all stepped up and answered the call for help. At the time of writing this letter, we not only met our goal but we have exceeded it by a couple thousand dollars. We will not only be able to replace these units, but we will be able to make some much needed repairs on other AC systems on our campuses. Thank you so much for your faithful support of the mission!!

During the early part of this summer, we have had multiple groups of volunteers come to the mission to help us maintain our campuses. Groups spent time weeding, planting, mulching, painting, cleaning, sorting, and washing all over our campuses. While some of you might argue that this is busy work, I strongly push back to that idea. We have a very limited paid maintenance crew here at UM. Their primary responsibility is to fix the things that break. And trust me, in building this old, things break all the time. Our maintenance team would have to be more than double the size it is now in order to manage all the work volunteers accomplish for us. This allows us to have lower administrative costs thus allowing more funds to go directly into the programs. Without our maintenance volunteer teams, our campus would look much different and not in a good way. Thank you so much for all who help.

Giving, volunteering, and praying – these are the three pillars of support that allow Union Mission to function day to day. Your efforts are essential to our ministry and I cannot thank you enough.
