Exciting changes are happening at the Union Mission Addiction Recovery Program, starting with new Director Denise Kennedy. You may recognize her name, as she has been with the Union Mission since 2019 as vocational advancement coordinator in our client services department.

Our recovery programs have evolved over the years into a 12-15 month program with two phases. Our residents spend the first part of their recovery program focusing on their spiritual, mental, and physical health. Once they have a solid foundation of faith and support, they start re-entering society. We walk with them as they rebuild their lives, with faith in Jesus Christ at the core.  Our programs are certified by the WV Alliance for Recovery Residences (WVARR).

Denise would like you all to know that she is extremely grateful for the opportunity to work as director of addiction recovery and continue the work of those who have served before her. One of her greatest joys is seeing men and women receive new lives through the love of Christ.

Denise has hit the ground running with an infectious excitement to serve the residents of our recovery program. She meets people where they are, and has a loving and peaceful way of bringing a team together. The Mission has a tried and true history of evolving to meet the needs of hurting West Virginians. I am excited to see where the Lord takes our recovery programs through Denise’s leadership and direction.
