At the beginning of September, we asked our donors to help us with an emergency concerning the HVAC systems on our administration building which also houses our Men’s Addiction Recovery program. This building, like the rest of the campus, was built back in the 1970’s when energy was cheap so energy efficiency wasn’t a top priority. Many of the HVAC units on this building are well over 20 years old and have exceeded their life expectancy. Unfortunately, 6 decided they no longer want to be here and rolled over for good.
Fortunately, our appeal to you, our generous supporters, was heard loud and clear! We were hoping to reach $30,000 by the end of September so we could get the units fixed in order to pass our inspection for the recovery program. I am excited to say that goal was met in time! I continue to be in awe of the generosity of our donor base. You all continue to faithfully show your love for what we are trying to do here. Thank you so much! As with anything in this broken world, there are still challenges. We have enough units working to get us through our inspection, but a new challenge is finding reputable HVAC companies who have the time to service us this fall. We are on the list with a couple and hope to get all 6 units replaced soon. Of course, 6 out of 55 units for all of our buildings at all campuses is a great start but some of the other units are close to failure as well. Please pray that these units can get us through the winter months and when they fail that they won’t all fail at once! Again, I can’t thank you enough for your generosity in helping us overcome this challenge.
