Earlier this summer, we kicked off our 3rd annual Fuel the Mission campaign. The purpose of this campaign is to build up a restricted fund designated for fuel purchases that can last an entire year. The goal is to “Fill the Tank” in the summer and hopefully not run out until the next summer when we can repeat the campaign.
In the spring of 2023, Gearry and I noticed the “tank” was getting empty. We were going to run out of money before July when we normally launch the campaign. Now, running out of funds in this restricted account doesn’t mean the trucks get parked because they are out of fuel, but it does mean that we have to start paying for fuel out
of the general fund which is our primary fund for food purchase. The fuel fund helps us maximize the general fund.
So, we kicked off the campaign early and set the audacious goal of $35k instead of our usual $25k. I know, that is a
40% increase in one year! However, at Union Mission, experiencing God’s blessing is not a new thing for us. We
were faithful and hopeful He would move His people to give. And move He did! On July 31, 2023, we closed out the Fuel the Mission campaign at $35,886.35!
I cannot emphasize enough how blessed this organization is to have supporters like you. Your sacrificial giving
helps us move forward with our efforts to reach as many people as possible with food, clothing, shelter, and the
