West Virginia is no stranger to floods, and neither is the Union Mission. Historically, this organization has been on the front line of nearly every natural disaster that has hit our great state. Every time devastation occurs, I am reminded of the spirit for selfless service that we at the Mission share. From staff, to volunteers, to donors, I am always blessed to be joined by people ready and willing to lend a hand to their neighbors.
On August 28, communities in Eastern Kanawha County experienced devastating floods. Our Bud Young Emergency Response Team was ready to roll. We received clearance to enter the areas that were hit hardest and distribute food, cleaning supplies, and hope.
And that is the thing that makes the Union Mission different… hope. We bring people together to make a difference. Whether it be through time, elbow grease, prayer, or money, we join together to help those who are hurting in West Virginia in Jesus’ name. I am very grateful for each and every one of you who helps the Union Mission help others. Thank you for your time, talent, money, and your prayers! It is an honor to serve the Lord with you.
