Last month, I discussed how times have changed due to the reach of drug addiction in our state and how Union Mission has to change in order to keep up and to continue serving those with the greatest need. In working with our team, we have identified the direction we need to take Crossroads Men’s Shelter.
We have men in Crossroads who desperately want a change in their lives. They are looking to get off the streets, complete the education they need, and find a good paying job in order to care for their families. We want to give them the tools to be successful. We want to “feed people” physically, spiritually, and now mentally.
To do this, it will take a community of partners and we are building those relationships now. We are planning a vocational class schedule and asking many professionals in a variety of fields to volunteer time to teach. We are forming a relationship with a local community college which offers daytime classes and can offer GED (TASC) classes as well. We are asking local business owners to give our men a chance in the work force if qualifications are met. The goal is to prove to our men that there is hope. With Christ, ALL things are possible. Please pray with us for these men in Crossroads. Please help us prove to these men in our community that there is a better way to live.
