In order to get a jump on the demands for food we are anticipating this fall, we are kicking off our fall food drive in August. We are in need of canned food items including corn, beans, peas, and other common canned items.

Union Mission not only feeds people directly in the Charleston area, but we provide food to over 19 different food pantries in the southern and central part of the state. Tens of thousands of cans of food will be needed during the fall season leading up to Christmas.

In order to get more people engaged in this event (people who don’t know about us), some of our business partners have donated some great prizes that we will give away via a drawing at the end of the food drive. For each canned food item donated, the donor’s name will be entered into the drawing. The more you donate, the more chances you have to win great prizes!

How it works:

• For every canned food item a person donates, their name will be entered into the drawing that will be done live, on air with WQBE Saturday, August 19th around 6pm.
• Donations will be accepted at Chickfila in South Charleston (new one on MacCorkle) that Saturday starting at 7am.
• Donations can also be dropped off at Union Mission’s South Park campus throughout the week leading up to the drawing.
