September 12th was an exciting day for the graduates from Union Mission’s Addiction Recovery Program. In front of friends, family and staff, fourteen men and
women walked across the stage and accepted their diplomas. It was a time of celebration and victory for the graduates as they now have a new lease on life they
never thought possible.

By the time our clients are ready to graduate, they’ve already begun the transition from life in the program to reentering society. Most of them will move into the
mission’s transitional living for a period of time. In addition, the Vocational Advancement Program is assisting the graduates with the necessary tools to further their education, learn new job skills, obtain employment, reunite with their families and become productive members of their communities.

For these graduates what may have been a reluctant transition in the beginning is now welcomed with open arms. They have found a new life of new found sobriety
and have discovered an entirely new direction.

Congratulations graduates and special thanks all who have played a part in their recovery. There is still much work to do! A new recovery class has begun, and continued support is much appreciated.
