Upon arriving for the morning shift at our food warehouse last week, our staff noticed the freezer was not functioning. The contents of the entire freezer, over 600 square feet full of food, had to be removed. Fortunately, none had to be thrown out since it had not defrosted yet but we had to scramble on Friday to find people to take the food.
Early estimates show that the repairs are going to be over $6000!
We know we just finished up a great fuel drive campaign, but we need your help again. Can you help us repair our freezer AND help us buy food to fill it back up?
We usually have beef, chicken, prepared meals, and vegetables packed into this unit to supply food for our recovery residents, shelter residents, and Family Services clients. Every day our freezer is down, we have to decline donations of frozen foods from other organizations. Your gift could help us get our warehouse back up to full functionality.
We were able to share the frozen food that had to be moved with several pantries as well as the residents on South Park Road.
