Union Mission Names Jason Quintrell President and Chief Executive Officer

The Union Mission Board of Directors announced today that Jason Quintrell has been named President and CEO.

Rev. Quintrell brings more than 20 years of experience to the Union Mission. Most recently he served as pastor of Dunbar First Baptist Church. During his career, he’s also served as pastor of Victory Baptist Church in Scotia, New York and held positions as an account executive with AT&T, regional sales associate with Ralph Lauren, and financial planner for Piedmont Financial Planning. Rev. Quintrell is a graduate of West Liberty University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. He also holds a bachelor and master’s degree in Theology from Hyles-Anderson College and Seminary.

Rev. Quintrell starts his new role April 3, 2017. He becomes only the fifth person in the 106-year history of the Union Mission to serve as President and CEO.

“Jason brings a passion to serve others and a desire to help those in need,” said Union Mission Board Chairman Dr. Jonathan Abraham. “We are confident he will build on the strong legacy we have in place and lead the Union Mission forward so we can continue to serve the needs of people in West Virginia.”

Rev. Quintrell succeeds Rev. Rex Whitman, who joined Union Mission as President and CEO in 1989. Whiteman will remain with Union Mission and assume the role of President Emeritus and CEO.

Rex Whiteman. “My heart is and will always be with the mission and those we serve.”

Born and raised in St. Albans, West Virginia, Rev. Quintrell, his wife, Erin and their three children live in Poca.

Union Mission serves those in need across West Virginia, primarily through seven programs; Brookside Women’s and Children’s Center, a residential program for single women with children as well as single mothers-to-be; Cornerstone, a program for women committed to addiction recovery; Crossroads, a men’s rescue shelter facility; Foundations, a discipleship program for men committed to addiction recovery; Family Services and Outreach, offering food, clothing, and counseling to struggling families in 28 West Virginia counties and the Union Mission Thrift Store.

Union Mission receives no local, state, or federal support but instead relies solely on the donations of those who choose to “Help Hurting People in Jesus’ Name.”
