Help us fight the food insecurity issues in WV that have only been worsened by economic inflation.
For many of us, Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to express our gratitude for the blessings in our lives. For the homeless or those dealing with food insecurity, they face a season that reminds them of everything they have lost or have never had.
This year, as we have done every year for decades, Union Mission will be collecting food items as well as taking cash donations, in order to distribute food to families throughout Charleston and surrounding counties.
Utilizing distribution partners, we will be able to send food to the most needy in very rural parts of central West Virginia as well as serving the needs of those right here in Kanawha County. The size and scope of this project is based mostly on contributions from you faithful givers. The more food and money we collect, the more families we can serve.
Due to strong business relationships we have with food distribution companies, we can maximize your financial contribution in order to purchase food. While inflation is showing up in our food expenses as it is for every family, just $3.49 can buy a complete meal for one person. $34.95 can buy a family of four food for an entire week!
You can also drop off non perishable food items at our warehouse located at 700 South Park Road in Kanawha City during business hours Monday through Friday.
Your gifts are giving hurting people the most precious gift of all this time of year – hope.
