You are warmly invited to our 2016 Union Mission Gala and Dinner on Monday, October 3rd at the Charleston Civic Center. We are excited to introduce a special guest speaker Ron Hall, author or Same Kind of Different As Me and special music by the Martin Luther King Jr. Male Chorus. The evening will also include a silent auction, dinner and wonderful fellowship.

The Speaker
Ron Hall, author of Same Kind of Different As Me will give an inspirational account of his friendship with Denver Moore, a homeless man. He is also the co-producer of the upcoming major motion picture produced by Paramount Pictures. The movie is scheduled to be released in early 2017 featuring Rene Zellweger, Greg Kinnear, Olivia Holt, Jon Voight, Djimon Hounsou and others.

The Music
Special musical guest, The Martin Luther King Jr. Male Chorus, will provide uplifting music for the evening. The group includes around 30 men ranging from age 20 to 90. The group started in January 1996, when a group of men were recruited to sing as part of a celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. Since then, the group has performed all over the United States, and has
performed for the president twice.

The Cause
Since 1911, Union Mission has offered a helping hand to the needy of West Virginia. With the recent flood devastation throughout the state, it has been a challenging year for the mission. The 2016
Gala will help raise funds for continued support of the mission, its ministries and those we serve.

To join us on Monday, October 3rd, RSVPs can be made by contacting Lana McVey at 304.925.0366 ext. 142 or by email at lana@wefeedpeople.com
